Photography Heaven
Ingredients – two gorgeous models, an uber talented make up artist / stylist, a top Dundee bespoke jeweller who works with silver, a brief to show off the talents of all involved and an afternoon to play – a photographer’s idea of a perfect way to spend time.
Dundee based Nicola Morrison makes bespoke jewellery and was looking for some images to show off her latest work. With hair, makeup and styling by Sandra Cormack ‘SC Makeup Artistry‘, also of Dundee, and the very beautiful Lynn and Rosslyn as models it was always going to be a good day and I was delighted to be the photographer. Sandra spent the morning preparing the girls hair and make-up and we all met just after lunch at the Wasp Studios in Dundee, just around the corner from the Verdant Mill for an afternoon’s photography.
The session was great fun as we had the opportunity to experiment and try different ideas which I always enjoy. One thing I took away from the day was that my 105mm micro lens is great for portraits
– I would not normally have used this camera lens for lifestyle portrait photography or wedding photography but I will definitely be carrying it in my camera bag from now on.
Lynn and Rosslyn were great models, and a lot of fun to work with. Lynn had done some modelling before but this was Rosslyn’s first time and she did a great job.
A big thanks to Amanda Miller at Abernyte Antiques , near Dundee, for supplying the gorgeous vintage dresses and Alison Preuss of The Frockery, by Forfar, for the vintage clutch bag.
